Ending cruelty to children 2009

Welcome from Andrew Flanagan, chief executive of the NSPCC, and Sir Christopher Kelly, chairman of the Board of Trustees

Welcome, and thanks for visiting the NSPCC’s annual review and report.

We hope you find the review of our progress and challenges interesting. Along the way we try to give you an insight into what the NSPCC’s work looks like, how we impact on children’s lives, and what it means to strive to end cruelty to children. Whether you are an old friend or a newcomer to the Society, we would love to know what you think.

In the last year we have worked with many children, campaigned with and on their behalf, trained people and raised awareness to protect them. At the same time, the arrival of a new chief executive has meant reflecting on our successes to date and building a new direction for the future. We look forward to doing so with your support.
